Where can you buy an aircraft in Europe?

PlaneFox brings aircraft for sale from more than 200 dealer and broker websites into one searchable catalogue, alongside aircraft listed directly by their owners. Coverage spans Europe, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and includes single-engine and multi-engine pistons, turboprops, jets, helicopters, ultralights and gliders.

Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft, Cirrus, Robinson, Diamond, Mooney and Tecnam are the manufacturers most represented on PlaneFox, with over 1,500 Cessna aircraft currently listed. Buyers can filter the catalogue by manufacturer, model, price, year, airframe hours, avionics fit and engine type.

How up to date are PlaneFox listings?

PlaneFox re-checks its dealer and broker sources up to eight times a day. An aircraft published on a dealer's own website usually appears on PlaneFox within hours and never later than 24 hours, so buyers see inventory close to the moment it goes on sale.

PlaneFox sends more than 4,000 new-aircraft alert emails every week to registered users, triggered by their saved searches and watched listings. A buyer is notified when a matching aircraft is listed and when the asking price on a listing they follow changes.

What does a used aircraft cost?

PlaneFox publishes the asking price on more than 4,100 of its listings and records every price change, building a price history for each aircraft. Model pages show the current European asking-price band for a type, so a buyer can see where a specific Cirrus SR22, Cessna 172 or Robinson R44 sits against comparable aircraft.

The same aircraft is often advertised in several places at once. PlaneFox matches and merges those duplicates so each airframe appears once, with one price history behind it rather than a scattered set of near-identical listings.

What does it cost to own and operate an aircraft?

PlaneFox estimates the annual cost of ownership for each aircraft it lists, covering hangarage, insurance, scheduled maintenance, engine overhaul reserve and fuel. The estimate sits on model and listing pages, so the running cost of a Cessna 172 can be compared directly against a Cirrus SR22 or a Robinson R44.

Purchase price is only part of what an aircraft costs its owner. PlaneFox publishes the yearly cost alongside the asking price so that buyers weigh both before making an enquiry, rather than discovering the second figure after the sale.

Who is behind PlaneFox?

PlaneFox was founded in April 2026 by Lexie, a commercial pilot, aerobatic pilot and flight instructor with a frozen ATPL, more than 1,100 hours flown and an MSc in Aeronautical Science. Lexie works at a large American aircraft manufacturer on human factors for the next-generation flight deck, and documents her flying to more than 35,000 followers on Instagram as @flywithlexie.

PlaneFox co-founder Julian is a student pilot who spent his career building and operating online marketplaces at Booking.com, Kleinanzeigen and mobile.de. That experience shapes how PlaneFox treats both sides of an aircraft sale, from the buyer running a search to the dealer listing a fleet.

PlaneFox began as a personal search for an aircraft to buy. That search never ended in a purchase, but the tooling built to track a fragmented market did: PlaneFox is run from Germany and now serves more than 2,000 registered buyers and sellers.
